Meet The Lady has been hard at work producing monthly screening events in NYC — one nearly every month — since early 2010. In order to keep things rolling, we’re introducing a sponsorship system that allows our fans to contribute to the quality and frequency of upcoming events; as you’ll see below, every tier of sponsorship comes with its own special benefits. “ANONYMOUS” - $5
We spend hours pawing through junk-heaps looking for photos of women who seem to have been unjustly discarded. For a $5 donation we’ll mail you (or the person of your choice) 3 random prints of anonymous ladies from our vast collection.
“RITA, MARY, or CAROL” - $15
These three sweet gals are making the most of whatever they’ve got, and nobody’s gonna keep them down. For $15 you’ll get a scrapbook-mounted photo print of either Rita, Mary, or Carol; 3 random prints of unidentified ladies from our collection, and acknowledgement on our website. What a deal!

“LORETTA” - $25
Loretta’s natural wit and ebullience were captured here on a Sunday morning in 1981, but they’re just as impossible to resist on any other day of the week. In exchange for your $25 donation, friends of Loretta will receive a framed print of her photo, 3 random prints of anonymous women from our collection, and a mention on our website’s donor page.
“SISTER LEDA” - $35
We’ll never know any details about the happy times David and dear Sister Leda spent together (I suspect playclothes made from upholstery fabric may have been involved) but this fetching portrait never fails to soothe and inspire us when the dog bites or the bee stings. For a donation of $35, friends of Sister Leda will receive a framed print of her photo, 5 random prints of anonymous women from our collection, and a note of acknowledgment on our website.
“MRS. LELIA” - $50
A summer memory from Winston Salem, 1937: After hours of working in the garden, the enigmatically delectable Mrs. Lelia scoots forward from her resting place in the shade to strike a sultry pose for the camera. In addition to a framed print of her photo, friends of Mrs. Lelia will receive five random prints of anonymous women from our collection, plus acknowledgement in our printed program as well as on our website.
“FRIENDSHIP PACK” - $75
Enjoy an evening out, with a friend! For $75 you can have 2 framed photo prints of female buddies from our collection (one to keep, one to share), 2 free tickets to a MTL event of your choice, and a nod in both our printed program and website.
“JULIA” - $100
Our beloved spirit guardian. Everyone loved her, but no one could tame her — and one day she would have her revenge. Friends of Julia (pictured here in 1989) will receive a framed photo print, 2 free tickets to a MTL event of the donor’s choice, acknowledgement in our printed program and on our website, five original vintage photographs from the MTL collection, and a birthday phone call from Tom’s mother.
“DOROTHY” - $150
The patron saint of philanthropists everywhere, Dorothy cuts a savage figure in this stunning 1965 ensemble. We know that at these heights of generosity it’s hardly about getting anything in return, but friends of Dorothy will receive a framed print of her photo, 2 free tickets (plus 2 drink tickets) to a MTL event of the donor’s choice, acknowledgement in our printed program and on our website (including a 100-character message from the donor), five original vintage (pre-1950s) photographs from the MTL collection, and a special “thank you” announcement from Tom during one of our events.
