Meet The Lady is an NYC variety show that pays tribute to women in the performing arts. Hosted at 92YTribeca since Spring 2010, these events are a collage of film clips, performances, presentations, and live interviews with fascinating talents from every medium. Past guests include Louise Lasser, Amy Sedaris, Beth Grant, and Nellie McKay.
In addition to events, Meet The Lady maintains an archive of reclaimed photographs (mostly attained via flea markets and rubbish heaps) that present everyday women as objects of personal or historical fascination.
The Meet The Lady tumblr blog (our main page) was founded by Tom Blunt and Chris Kelly in 2009. Frequent contributors to our site and shows include Colin Shepherd, David Archer, Roslyn Hart, and Sonya Moore.
ABOUT TOM BLUNT
Tom Blunt is a writer, performer, and producer living in New York City. He has appeared at NYC venues including the Slipper Room and Public Assembly, and appeared (barely) in the viral web video Shit New Yorkers Say. Tom is also a co-producer of the Joe’s Pub cabaret sensation Never Sleep Alone, which ran weekly for most of 2012 and was featured in the New York Times. His written work has been showcased on The Huffington Post, The Guardian, The Awl, The Hairpin,xo Jane, and the Random House film blog Word and Film.
